Spring cleaning - diy-ing - and decorating

Now that its almost May, im excited for spring cleaning, well maybe not the actual cleaning per-say but the organizing, making things pretty, and getting back to work getting our apartment in order. My parents are on a 6 week vacation perfect time to venture upstairs and give the whole house a deep clean, and declutter, thrift stores rechoice, you'll be receiving our junk!  cant wait until i get through all the non fun stuff and the weather warms up then its back to diy-ing and finally getting our second dresser painted yyaayy!! Marc and i have already selected the colour and i picked out ceramic knobs to co-ordinate with the ones i have for my dresser.  The tall dresser in the set i painted for me, I used my favorite paint colour ever Almond Wisp for the "body" of the dresser and decided to ombre the drawers in shades of pink (super girly i know, poor Marc)

This is the first dresser i diy-ed , yeah it was pretty ugly to begin with lol but its a solid wood vintage dresser from the 70's and i knew i could make it pretty
Knowing i would only need a small amount of paint per drawer, i picked a paint sample card and had them make each colour in sample size jars, leaving more then enough to do my project and costing a fraction of the price
This is the dresser with its first coat of creamy Almond Wisp, it a cream colour with just the faintest hint of yellow, so its a warm cream colour. (it can be found all over our apartment)

My drawers freshly ombre style painted

And here she is all together! soo pretty and such a transformation!

Now that my dad has filled the holes in the top drawer, one last coat of paint, the protecting coat and finally my pink ceramic knobs with the butterflies and creamy white handles can go on yyayy

Ceramic butterfly knobs

The second dresser matches the first, but is short and long with a huge mirror. i thought of going a grey colour so it would be a little more manly for marc, and we decided on a blue grey.
But then i found the flowered ceramic knobs that co-ordinates with the butterflies and sadly its not so manly anymore lol
The colour we chose is Pier Pointe, and these are the knobs, there is also vintage handles for the top drawer that are a creamy white.

I recently got us a whole new bed set as well, My local zellers started clearancing all their inventory along with things from the bay as well , im not gonna lie i over extended myself with my zellers credit card a bit, and will be making slightly higher payments for the nest couple months but it was soo worth it!
I got us 800 thread count sheets, multiple sets for 20$ and under, Marc called me a sheet snob, until he snuggled into bed and was all "oohhh yyeeaahhhh" bahahahahaa
but my favorite is the beautiful Dian Von Furstenberg, Floral Batik bedding.
The pattern is beachy and cottagey and not so girly that Marc doesnt like it.
The original retail is over 300$ and i got it for 30$, i had to buy each pillowcase separately and they cost me more then the duvet cover! but it was so worth it, considering the original pricing (120$ for a ppillowcase - insane! i would never pay that)
I made multiple trips to the store until the throw pillow clearanced low enough for me to afford it and im soo glad i did, i love it!
